| In December 1979, after 2 years of work in the "Big 8" public accounting firm Haskins & Sells, Stephen Leake opened his own public accounting practice as Stephen A. Leake, CPA. Steve built a practice based on solid relationships and the principle of "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you," also known as "The Golden Rule." Steve made and maintained strong relationships with his clients based on mutual trust and understanding. In 2002, Steve discussed the issue of continuance of his firm with his son, Andy, and asked if he would be interested in teaming up to carry on the family business. Andy began taking business classes at UNT, graduated with a degree in accounting, and began working for Steve in his original firm. Andy passed the CPA exam shortly thereafter, and together they started the new family business in December 2010 as Leake CPA, PC, continuing to maintain the same principles of honesty, diligence, and courtesy in business practice. In 2012, Leake CPA, PC opened a new location in Richardson to improve accessibility to clients along the I-75 corridor. In 2013, Leake CPA, PC opened another location in McKinney to better serve clients in Collin County.
